Audiomack Hits 50 Million Monthly Active Users, Reports 31% YoY Growth

Music streaming platform Audiomack has reached a significant milestone, amassing 50 million monthly active users (MAU) globally. The company announced the figure on (January 21), citing a 31% year-over-year growth rate for 2025 and attributing its expansion to a strategic focus on human curation and localized music discovery.

This user base growth aligns with the platform’s recent commercial ascent in key markets. Audiomack recently stated it is the top-ranked music app in 21 countries across Africa, a position it says is driven by listeners from Dakar to Dar es Salaam increasingly streaming homegrown talent.

“Our growth reflects our dedication to building the best possible music experience for forward-thinking fans, creators, and curators around the world,” said David Ponte, Audiomack Co-Founder and CMO, in a statement accompanying the announcement.

The platform’s strategy has been to bet on human curation over algorithms, a method it argues gives artists a genuine platform to build followings and allows listeners to discover music organically before it achieves widespread popularity.

This community-focused approach is gaining traction outside the United States, particularly in regions where other DSPs holds less than a third of the total market share, according to the company’s internal analysis.

Audiomack now consistently tops the music app charts in dozens of countries, having built deep connections with local scenes through regional charts, editorial coverage, and discovery tools designed to spotlight emerging sounds.

Discovery remains central to Audiomack’s value proposition, driven by what it describes as a community of “lean-forward, discovery-driven users” who actively seek new music and utilize interactive tools like Audiomod to engage with tracks.

The platform supports over 1 million active creators and features a library that includes songs from all three major labels and more than 400 independent companies, all while allowing artists to upload unlimited music for free.

Looking ahead, Audiomack confirmed plans to launch Audiomack Pro in 2026. The premium program, announced in late 2025 when its waitlist opened, will offer artists instantaneous monetization, advanced analytics, and priority support.

This rollout represents the next phase in the company’s investment in emerging and self-managed artists who are building careers independently, providing them with more sophisticated promotional tools and resources.

The 50-million MAU milestone solidifies Audiomack’s position as a formidable player in streaming markets outside the U.S., demonstrating the scalability of its localized, creator-first model against larger global competitors.

Its growth underscores a broader trend in digital music consumption, where platforms offering specialized community features and regional curation can achieve significant scale by addressing gaps left by one-size-fits-all global services.

With its expanding user base, deepening regional influence, and planned premium offering, Audiomack is positioning itself not just as an alternative streaming service, but as a foundational ecosystem for the next generation of global music discovery and artist development.

The platform’s continued focus on tools like Connect and Boost for audience engagement suggests an ongoing commitment to building more than a passive listening experience, but an interactive community around music consumption and creation.
