Soundcharts fills data-gaps on African music with Audiomack deal

Music-streaming service Audiomack has inked a partnership with analytics firm Soundcharts which will see the DSP providing data from its playlists and ‘Geo Charts’. Given Audiomack’s popularity in Africa – and with the African diaspora worldwide – Soundcharts sees the deal as plugging an important gap in its metrics.

“Integrating Audiomack’s data helps Soundcharts deliver a truly global view of the music industry, filling long-standing gaps in how African music consumption is represented,” said CEO David Wieszfeld. “This addition brings visibility to one of the world’s fastest-growing music regions.”

Audiomack CMO David Ponte added that the intention is “amplifying the global impact of African music”. The deal also boosts Soundcharts’ overall scale, with the company now tracking more than seven million playlists, 26,000 charts and 2,400 radio stations.
