Audiomack is giving more playlisting power to trusted humans by allowing access to vital statistics.
Audiomack has rolled out a major update that gives its community of 350 global playlist curators access to professional-grade analytics for the first time. The move extends the platform’s “Tastemakers” programme, recognising the vital role human curators play in helping fans discover the next wave of music talent.
Launched in late 2024, Audiomack’s Tastemakers programme brings together independent curators from around the world, from Lagos and Accra to Kingston and São Paulo. These curators have become trusted guides in local music scenes, often discovering emerging artists before algorithms do. With the new update, they can now see how their playlists perform in real time through the Audiomack for Tastemakers feature, available on iOS and Android.
The analytics tools include detailed metrics such as Stream Impact, Save Impact, Finish Rate, and 30-second Stream Rate, as well as seven-day performance snapshots. These insights help curators understand how listeners are engaging with their playlists, giving them the ability to refine their selections while staying true to their instincts.
Audiomack co-founder and CMO David Ponte explained in an interview with Music Ally that the update “is about giving you tools to see: do people like these playlists? Do they like particular songs in your playlists?” He added, “You can go with your gut. But then have that validated with these stats.”
As Music Ally points out, this level of transparency has typically been reserved for in-house editorial teams at major streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music. Audiomack’s decision to share these tools with independent curators marks a significant shift, empowering individuals who play a key role in music discovery.
Since its launch, the Tastemakers programme has seen a steady rise in playlist-driven streams, with noticeable growth in regions such as Nigeria and Canada. According to Audiomack, the platform now reaches over 47 million monthly active users and around 12 million daily listeners, reinforcing its growing global influence.
By combining human insight with data-driven tools, Audiomack is giving curators the ability to shape music discovery in new ways. The platform’s continued investment in its global community of Tastemakers signals its belief that great curation still starts with people, not algorithms.
