Audiomack taps Beatdapp’s technology to tackle streaming fraud

Anti-fraud startup Beatdapp has signed up another streaming service to use its technology. Audiomack is working with the company to analyse its platform and “remove fraudulent streams from sales reports, identify compromised user accounts, detect bots, and help inform editorial decisions”. The latter including its charts and algorithmic playlists.

With more than 40 million monthly active users, Audiomack is one of the biggest DSP clients for Beatdapp so far. The startup signed a flurry of deals last year with partners including Beatport, the MLC and Tuned Global. Founder Morgan Hayduk recently spoke on out ‘Fighting Music Industry Fraud at the Source’ webinar, suggesting that the level of streaming fraud – as a percentage of overall streams – is “probably more 5-10%, getting closer to 10” with some (obscure) distributors running “fraud rates that are in the 99% range in a given month”.
